Der gebürtige Engländer ist professioneller Sound Designer, Sound Supervisor und Musiker mit klassischem Hintergrund (Hauptinstrument Cello), der gleichfalls in der populären Musik zu Hause ist.

Die Jahre 1992-1997 verbrachte er in Hollywood, wo er an namhaften Produktionen wie zum Beispiel BRAVEHEART (der für seine Sound Effekte einen Oscar gewann und für den Nigel mit dem MPSE Golden Reel Award ausgezeichnet wurde), CONGO, LUDWIG VAN B. - MEINE UNSTERBLICHE GELIEBTE, DER GLÖCKNER VON NOTRE DAME (Disney), CANDYMAN etc. gearbeitet hat. Nigel lebt und arbeitet in München, wo er sein eigenes Studio besitzt.
